We recently celebrated West's 1st Birthday with a "Wild West" party, had lots of friends and family there and everyone had a great time reflecting over the past year and all the wonderful insanity we survived!
West has been doing all sorts of new things including lots of climbing attempts, new noises, facial expressions and eating habits. He loves peas and carrots, mac and cheese, cottage cheese, yogurts, fruit and he's been great about drinking whole milk, and water. We confirmed his dislike of sugary sweets by his reaction to his birthday ca
On the 31st we had West's 1 year check up and the latest stats are in! Our boy is weighing in at 29 lbs. 2 oz., hitting the ruler at 34" and has a noggin measuring 47 cm.! He's really doing great, eating with utensils and using real cups, enjoying life as far as we can tell, and he'll be off of formula by April or May, hopefully. Now we just need to get him walking without hanging on to something for dear life and he can finally get a job and start earning his keep around here...
In other news, work is fine for both of us. I'm on to the next big project planning a wedding in November for a good friend, and Christian has been working on a few side projects. We're both just trying to keep a solid, healthy balance of good parenting, housework, our "real" jobs, and an adult conversation now and then. So far, it's working out pretty well! We are incredibly fortunate to have such an amazing family, good friends included, who love and care for us so much.
