Happy Spring! We are enjoying some beautiful but nippy weather here in Seattle. It's nice to wake up to sunshine, blue skies and dry ground again!Nothing very exciting to report around here aside from my most recent trip to the ER. I was wrapping a package at work, cutting ribbon and snipped the end of my finger. Luckily, I didn't take it off! So now I have a franken-finger, stitches, throbbing pain and all. Sadly, it's not the first time I've taken a little trip to the ER for a stupidity-related work injury.

West is doing well. He's dancing, loving books, getting another molar, eating lots of new things, giving kisses left and right, and working on the walking thing. Anytime we are walking with him, one parent on each side,
he looks up curiously at each of us as if
he's really
being put out and is wondering where the hell his ride is!

In the working world, as part of a company wide contest to promote our "Bunny with Basket" cake pan, I created my edible version of the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland. He has a few "props" from different aspects of the story like the pocket watch, a white rose painted red, the door mouse, etc. First prize for the best cake is a trip to San Francisco
so keep your fingers crossed for us.
We
need a vacation in the worst way.
Here's
my bunny!
St. Patrick's Day is coming and we'll be having some yummy Corned Beef and Cabbage and wearing our green proudly. And for Easter, we'll be spending the morning with Christian's folks and exchanging baskets, which I'm sure I will never grow out of. Then it's off to a Birthday/Easter celebration for a friend. It should be a great day on a local farm, and will be West's first exposure to large animals, aside from his parents!

In May, we will be walking in the March of Dimes local fund-raising walk like we do every year for the Aids Walk. We have a few friends whose lives and those of their children have been affected by premature births so it's a very important cause for us.
Please take a look at my page, http://www.marchforbabies.org/Mcknittles
and make a donation if you are able.
Any amount is so greatly appreciated, and will benefit thousands. Thank you in advance!

That cake is unbelievable!! I love it!! I can't imagine you won't win...although admittedly I am not an expert in cake decorating, only cake eating.
